- 1 Minute to read
We're looking forward to the Environmental Defence Society (EDS) 2021 Conference starting this Wednesday in Ōtautahi/Christchurch.
As 'Silver Sponsors' of the event, we will have a stand featuring some of our end-user research outputs, so if you're heading along, make sure to drop by to pick some up. Plus, we have a line up of awesome speakers in back-to-back sessions on Friday.
Join us for exciting conversations about the future of our marine world…
At the first session ‘Transforming our oceans: Conserving 30%, redefining use of 70%’, our EBM in action theme leader Chris Cornelisen (General Manager, Coastal and Oceans Fisheries, Cawthron Institute) will be discussing what it'll take to transforming the blue economy.
Chris will then join our Building a seaweed sector project researchers Serean Adams (Aquaculture Manager, Cawthron) and Nigel Bradley (CEO, EnviroStrat) in a panel session and Q&A.
Our Director Julie Hall will be chairing the following session on Oceans and Fisheries Reform, featuring our Governance Group member Volker Kuntzch (CEO Cawthron). Volker will be speaking alongside Rangimarie Hunia (Chair, Te Ohu Kaimoana) and Raewyn Peart (Policy Director, Environmental Defence Society).
We're looking forward to what will undoubtedly be some excellent and interesting conversations!
