The role of Challenge Manager has an operations management focus, helping to drive the success of this important and ambitious undertaking by providing an interface for the different groups contributing to the Sustainable Seas Challenge. Your ability to communicate effectively with Māori and stakeholders the researchers and advisory group members to achieve desired outcomes will be critical. You will provide essential coordination, administration including contracting, reporting and documentation support for the Challenge Director, Manahautū, the Science Leadership Team, and the Challenge Governance Group Chair.
You will have a tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area and a strong track record and credentials in project management. Previous success in working with key stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency context to deliver complex programmes will be an advantage as will be an interest or experience in marine science/sector. Your positive, constructive and collaborative approach will have resulted in strong professional networks and relationships which you can draw upon. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and take on whatever is required to get the job done alongside others will stand you in good stead. A high energy level combined with excellent planning, organising and execution is required.
