Mitigating ocean acidification to protect mussels
This 2 min film describes a project that trialled methods to mitigate acidification and protect mussels.
New Zealand has a $300 million mussel industry that is under threat from climate change, as coastal waters become increasingly acidic due to increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Cliff Law (NIWA) developed methods in the laboratory and field tested them on one of Sanford's mussel farms in Pelorus Sound, New Zealand.
